There's a serious lack of Laforzas for sale right now, and I'm a little sad. There's one selling with a parts truck in Pennsylvania on Craigslist with no pictures. Apparently, the Laforza Life got to the seller and he's getting out of the Game. There's a $500 project in southern California. Then there's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! nightmare owner-personalized example on eBay .

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Autotrader and Cars.com don't even list Laforza, and their keyword searches turned up nothing. Ditto Hemmings. Guess I'll go back to work now.

So... is there some practical reason for your LaForza search habits, or is this a purely emotional quest?

EDIT: I just read that they made these until 2003 !!! I assumed they quit in the early 90s when the rest of the auto industry put it's full-force behind luxo-SUVs!

Is this...a rebadged Isuzu Trooper?

I wondered the same thing. Looks very much like the Gen II Trooper.

Not only did they make them, they apparently brought them into the US through the late-90s. Check the Fed sticker on that MY99 yellow eBay car I linked above.

And to your question... I don't know. Minnesota winter beater?

To be clear, I'm not judging, just surprised! I guess I never met a LaForza fan!

Every shred of my engineering brain is screaming: "There are so many more practical winter beaters, like old Explorers or XJ Jeeps", and then my car-guy side pipes in and says: "Yeah, but odd-ball Italian car with a Ford engine at an obtainable price!" I totally get it. I freaked out last summer and traded a perfectly good (and much loved) 2008 Civic Si for an old Corvette. Not the smartest thing I ever did, but definitely the most satisfying!

Interesting, I wonder if they were "inspired" by the Trooper.

I'm sorry but it looks like a Grand Cherokee and a K-Car had a baby.

They did, there was a gap in production of several years in the early/mid '90s. A few years after the original company collapsed, somebody bought the name, parts inventory, and unfinished vehicles and started making them again.

Fair enough, but only because I pictured the conception.

I recognize this background any time, thats a screenshot of a video from a really underrated Youtube channel, Cerealmarshmallows! You should definitely check out some of his car lot walk around videos, awesome guy!

Wait. Didn't this guy used to sell cars on eBay under another name as well? Something like "rock..." or... I feel like he was in Montana, but also had a dealer in... southern California or someplace like that. Ugh. Now I'm going to blow copious amounts of time trying to figure it out.

EDIT: Okay, that didn't take as long as I thought. Ebay user "pebbleandrock" is the same guy. He has some cool cars for sale, as well as bulk... cereal marshmallows.

Seems like he actually made quite a bit of money with those! But yeah, he's got a few properties filled with cool cars, mainly old 70s-90s Mercedes and Trans Ams, but also tons of other stuff. He 's a super nice guy and its interesting to see what he's up to once in a while.
